Descrizione
This thesis deals with the promotion and protection of freedom of religion or belief in the international legal domain within the framework of human rights law. It describes the unfolding of international standards and procedures regarding freedom of religion or belief. The international standardsetting process has not been brought to a close yet. The era discussed here has not only witnessed the emergence of international standards and procedures concerning freedom of religion or belief, but also the repeated and flagrant violation of that freedom throughout much of the world.
